This is an enhanced reprint of the original, with additional study questions/ discussion and review added at the end of every chapter. I bought the original about 18 years ago and it changed my families destiny for the better. I am glad the reprint came out as it prompted me to reread it and deepen my understanding.Some people complain that this book does not give a step by step process for change. I would counter that one size shoe does not fit all feet. There are many individual paths to wealth, and Kiyosaki sets the guiding stars to navigate by, but you have to walk your own individual road.Some key concepts of this book are: 1) Assets put money in your pocket even when you are on vacation. Liabilities take money out of your pocket, therefore your house is a liability [unless you rent out rooms and the garage as one person I know did while rebuilding his asset base].2) Wealthy people buy assets first, and then let their assets buy their luxuries from the surplus cash flow.3) Wealthy people continuously increase their assets by reinvesting their surplus cash flow in more assets.4) There are 3 primary asset classes: Real Estate, Businesses, and Paper assets (stocks bonds notes, etc)5) Cash Flow is more important than Net Worth. Net Worth is similar to potential energy, to use it you have to spend it, then it is gone. Cash Flow is like power from a hydroelectric dam, constantly replenished.The rich don't work for money, they work for assets.The tax laws are fair from the standpoint that the laws that the rich spent billions of dollars to have modified and interpreted apply to everyone who learns how to use them.A great foundation book for beginning to improve your financial intelligence so that you don't work 4 or more month's of every year for the Tax man, more months for the banks that hold your mortgage and credit cards, and whatever is left making the company you work for wealthy. I read this book about 11 years ago at 27 years old , had no money, I followed the advice in this book and now have 15 rental properties paid off free and clear, my assets more than cover all my expenses. I just bought this book again, I'm in the middle of reading it again now 11 years later and can't put it down. I hate reading btw. I plan on reading this book at least three more times over the next 20 years so I can keep all info fresh in my mind. People always ask me about success. I tell them to read this book...whats crazy is that they don't read it. You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink. The book changed my life and it will change yours. Do you want change or do you just want to talk and think about change? There is a big difference , do it.

The book is really easy to understand and to read, the message Robert gives is good and can help you change your mindset to be more financially independent but please beware of richdad education. After purchasing this book I immediately received ads all over social Media Facebook and instagram about Rich dad education seminars. I sign up for and went to one of their “free” seminars just to find a random guy talking about how rich and and wealthy he become after rich dad education and how now he is giving back to the community teaching them how they can become wealthy by doing all the real estate strategies promising that they will teach all this great strategies if you purchase a 3 day seminar for $700.00 ... and so I did purchase the 3 day seminar excited to find out what I was promised “real estate strategies” unfortunately after a few hours of being in the seminar I realized that all they were doing is talking about how you need and must invest on a 50k package plan. So you can have access to a mentor. 3 whole days just listening to an old lady talking about her life and how rich and wealthy she is, brainwashing you to invest in their plans to the point of asking for extreme personal financial information. wasted 3 days of my life and $700.00 just to give them the opportunity to talk about how I need to purchase their $50,000 legacy plan. They never talk about what I was promised at first on any real estate strategy. Please beware of this scam. I posted the packages they almost force to purchase and the questionnaire are you need to submit so they know how much money you have and or how you can get a loan to purchase their package.

A very motivational book without a lot of practical steps to magically achieve the goals listed. Some inaccurate information such as Charles Schwab dying penniless. More important is the author filed for bankruptcy in 2012. Why is that? Research it on your own. For most people this will motivate them to THINK differently and think outside the box, but not necessarily ACT differently, as we still need money to live on and have to work some and not just dream big without action and income behind it. This books contrasts another book "The Millionaire Next Door." Some of the examples that seem to be his idols are a bit scary too, like Ray Kroc. I'd rather apply Biblical money principles from people like Dave Ramsey. All in all a fun good read for mental stimulation. Take it with a grain of salt and don't blindly follow it 100%

I owned this book in the past and wanted to reorder it to read it again. Instead of getting the book I expected, I received a tiny, hand sized book, with print that is too small and that is, frankly, hard to open all the way in order to read the words near the binder. So the book is utterly useless. With all the complaints about this tiny book, I'm not sure why that is the book that automatically comes up when you search for the book. Instead, the normal sized book should be the default, and then people can select the pocket sized book if they want. So I would say that the content of the book is excellent. DO purchase the book; however, BE SURE TO SELECT THE LARGER, PAPERBACK VERSION if that's what you want (sorry for the all caps, just want to make sure people see that part).

Great start to a promising series! Claudia's life is spiraling out of control. Her best friend, with ironically the same name, dies in a car accident. Then, her dreams pull her into the Crossroads. She meets Michael there and he is rude. She finds out he is a half angel and half human and that for some reason the Fallen are after her. Michael's job is to protect her, but he has feelings for her. His feelings are against the laws he lives by and it could mean terrible consequences for both of them.I absolutely loved Michael from the start. He is so conflicted about loving Claudia that you can feel it. Claudia is just as gone for him. Michael's friends are wonderful and I adored each one of them. I think Davin was my favorite of all of them just because he is so 'in the moment'. I wasn't sure about Austin, but I think he is going to turn out ok. The story is great, taking place mainly in our world but a few glimpses into Crossroads. Claudia's life is important to all of the guardians and they will do whatever they have to, to protect her.It was absolutely a 5/5 for me. And I've already started on the second book.

Claudia is an almost 18-year-old who finds herself able to travel in her dreams to a place called Crossroads, the not-quite-Heaven home of the half-human, half-angel Alkins. Human beings shouldn’t be able to do this, but the fact that she can endangers her, making her a target of the Fallen. She meets her guardian angel Michael and they fall in love, even though it’s forbidden. There are many ideas that are interesting in the premise of the book - angels, Fallen angels, the Alkins, etc. - but there are too many problems with the book.The dialogue is awkward and the writing almost amateurish. Teenagers just don’t talk that way. It’s hard to get to know any of the characters well. While some things are over-explained, character descriptions are largely ignored. I don’t know what most of the characters look like, except Claudia having auburn hair being mentioned a couple of times. The character portrayals are not consistent either. Claudia should be the character we understand the most, since she is the narrator, yet she’s confusing. These fantastical things are happening to her, but she takes it in stride and is very accepting of it all. She goes from being terrified of her safety to doing unwise things that compromise her safety, like going to a party (several days after losing someone important to her), even though Michael tells her to stay put. Then she’s back to being distraught again several days after that at the funeral. It’s never explained why the funeral was almost two weeks after the death. During a battle, Claudia goes over a cliff and blacks out, expecting to die from the fall. When she wakes up, somehow having been saved by Michael, the first thing she thinks of is that she needs to thank him for her birthday gifts. Really, that’s the first thing to come to mind? You can understand how Claudia could fall for Michael, first for his looks and then for all of the sweet things that he does for her, and he is part angel after all, but it’s not clear what Michael sees in Claudia once he gets to know her, other than her smile. It’s the same for the other Alkins - they all love Claudia, but most of their interactions are just protecting her from the Fallen. What is it that makes them become friends? Another undeveloped detail - the book opens with the death of Claudia’s good friend, who shares her exact same first and last names. That death seems to be important, and I expected the connection of them having the same name to have something to do with the situation in which Claudia finds herself. However, by the end of the book, there are no more indications that this was important, so it’s just odd.Unfortunately, the poorly developed story and awkward dialogue overshadow what could be an interesting idea. I wanted to like it, but struggled to finish.

I did not enjoy the book at all. It seemed like a draft. Most of dialogues were over explained when the issue was an obvious joke or a simple conversation, but the complex matters of the plot were not enough developed. The main character goes through a lot, but accepts everything without effort. The story is ok, but the book in itself need more development. I will not read the next ones.

A tad bit better than The Gatekeeper’s Sons, it’s filled with body language, which was refreshing after that book.All of the books so far in this Gods and Mortals box set have had great plots, great ideas but, the only one to actually pull it off this far is Elsker, the others have seriously been lacking.Yet another book that I just couldn’t finish. Barely focuses on the plot, it’s just so tedious and seems to focus on the feelings. While that’s great and all, the plot is there for a reason, give it some of the lime light!I thought that the friend who died with the same name as the protagonist would have had more of an impact, I mean that’s the first thing you hear about her in the teaser and when the book starts but, she’s hardly even mentioned.Honestly, the way that teens are being written now, at least in the books I’ve been reading, is getting ridiculous. Do authors actually think that teens are as spacey and clueless as they write them? If I was still a teen, I’m not that much older, I would be offended.Again, I have notes.Okay, she’s in a shop and a dressing room door slams and she thinks it’s the wind. Then she says it must be the A/C…I don’t know about you but, every dressing room I’ve been in, the door is at least heavy enough to not slam by the A/C. Just how hard is that thing going? Or how thin are the dressing room doors?Michael, her guardian angel, says he trained under Aden, the Fallen leader and she wonders how he could associate with someone as evil as him. Did she not hear Michael tell her about Aden and how he became Fallen? Does the things he tells her go in one ear and out the other?And one last note, she tries to use a flashlight to fight, not once but twice. I’m sure if I had finished the book it would have been more than twice. Now, you may be thinking, “Wait? A flashlight is pretty sturdy, those things can do some damage.” Well, you would be right, they can do damage…if she was actually hitting them with it. Does she do that? No, she tries to use the light of the flashlight, twice, after it doesn’t work the first time.I don’t know if I would really recommend this to anyone, it’s just full of unnecessary sentences and a lot of teen things. I know it’s a young adult novel but the plot is basically ignored and it’s just so long.

I love it! I am a MYTHOLOGY FREAK and have been studying world RELIGIONS MYTHOLOGY since I was in KINDERGARTEN!!! The names of the deities are pretty much the SAME in the OTHER version of TBOtD I have... but many of the SECONDARY deities and their CONSORTS have TOTALLY different names... and I wanted to know how to SPELL the words he is using! Glad I looked INTO it and didn't just say "OH WELL... that's the way it GOES!" Thanks Amazon!!!!

Great read

A great book for beginner or even non -Buddhist about the Tibetan view of death.

This is an easy-to-understand translation of what we know in the West as "The Tibetan Book of the Dead" with a clear commentary, showing how the work, originally intended and still used to guide people through the process of dying, can also be used by anyone seeking spiritual understanding. It shows the "bardo's". the states and visions between death and a new life. Enlightenment (escape from the "wheel of rebirth") can be attained at any stage by someone being guided through these states, but does not always happen! In other words, the work includes the belief in rebirth/reincarnation, common to Eastern philosophy and more common now than it was - in the West.

I've worn out several copies of the Tibetan Book of the Dead - and many have 'disappeared' from my shelf. *smile*When I was attending shamanic training, this book was used as a 'textbook' for a two-year course on "conscious deathing".I love Chogyam Trungpa's commentary. When I lived in Boulder (early 1970's), he lived next door while creating Naropa Institute, and I often attended his lectures. It's good to 'see' him again.

I recommend this book to everyone of every religion. A true guide for living compassionately with the rest of humanity, within these pages are found SoulFood for our world.

As with most books written by Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, he gives a different view of this most cherished book.

(Ever try to read a book written by Roger Penrose?) They're not trying to impress with their brilliance and they explain complex subjects with clarity. Instead of "we know more than you and if you can't understand us too bad for you". No, the message of this book is there is so much we don't understand. Can you help us?

This book reminds me of grandma's chocolate cupcakes. Fun to consume, made with love, and secretly filled with vegetables.Anyone can write obtuse technical papers on their chosen field. A few truly accomplished people can explain their subject in small words. But it takes deep understanding, a talent for writing and a heaping portion of wisdom to be able to simultaneously explain your topic in small words, maintain a witty pace, and wink at the wonderful hubris of the human race at the same time.My favorite things I hesitate to mention, because nobody ever wants to eat the cupcakes if they are told about the vegetables first. But I do love the way they introduce the vocabulary and basic concepts of physics in an extraordinarily effective way. One barely even notices the learning, yet somehow each time they build on a previous concept the recall feels effortless. Not once, in this remarkable book did I say, "Wait, what?" and have to go backwards to re-read something. Like magic, they would say "Remember x?" and I would.But most of all, this book was fun. I own a sum total of three physical printed books (excluding textbooks - may Pearson Inc rot in eternal damnation for their unholy war on trees and pocketbooks), and this one earned it's place in my tiny bookshelf with it's humor.

I have read a bunch of physics books written for average guys like me, and this is by far the easiest to comprehend, funniest and most complete. It isn't "Physics for Dummies", but it simply uses understandable language to communicate complex concepts. If you have any interest in how the universe works on both a small and grand scale, this is the book for you. Yes, it points out that we really don't have most of the answers, but it clearly communicates what (we think) we know. Highly recommended, even for seniors and inquisitive teens.

I wish I could write a glowing review for how the authors made the subject matter accessible and enjoyable for the average person, but I can't.The science is deeply fascinating and remains mostly beyond my comprehension, but I remain very curious about the physical universe, hence why I bought this book. The book did a decent job of feeding that interest without being condensing or by use of impossible to understand jargon.But, the book is full of jokes. Way too many jokes and some of them questionably low brow given the subject matter they support. I made it nearly to the end, but got tired of cringing. To be fair, not all of the jokes were insipid or off topic. In fact, a few were very clever. But all amounted to speed bumps in the narrative and made for an unpleasant read.

Really enjoyed this book! I bought it because I liked PhD comics, and the book does not disappoint.UPDATE: My review was featured on the PhD comics Facebook page. I don't know if life can get any better than this.
